This is a tempoary post for 12 months.
As an Environmental Health Practitioner in our Private Sector Housing Team, Your primary function will be the investigation of complaints relating to property conditions and taking the associated enforcement action when necessary. You will also be involved in the day to day work of our busy team providing advice and assistance to landlords and external agencies, in addition to the implementation the extension to mandatory Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Licensing.
We are seeking an Environmental Health Practitioner with a degree in Environmental Health. Ideally you will have recent experience of housing inspection and enforcement. You must be able to demonstrate that you can identity and assess hazards using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and recommend appropriate remedial action. Experience of inspecting and licencing of Houses in Multiple is desirable. Good communication skills and a commitment to improving housing conditions for our residents are essential. We value people with initiative who have the confidence and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
