Job Details

We are currently seeking to appoint support assistants to join our dynamic and forward thinking Housing with Care Team. To provide direct personal care and support to tenants in accordance with their needs and agreed care and support plans, in a dignified and respectful manner ensuring the maximum wellbeing of each individual. These roles are on a fixed basis until 30th June 2019).  The hours available are 18 and 22.5.

Ensuring the rights of the tenant are upheld and promoted at all times, assuring the principles of choice, dignity, respect, privacy, empowerment and fulfilment.

To monitor and review Health & Safety and security to prevent and minimise risk.

You’ll need:

To be able to work towards the Care Certificate.

Organisational skills to ensure designated tasks are undertaken in an efficient and effective manner

To promote the independence of people who use services with the use of Assistive Technology and activities that increase and maintains independence to achieve the tenant's outcomes identified within each care and support plan.

To ensure that people who use services rights are upheld at all times to maximise the choices available by actively involving individuals in the decision-making process about all aspects of the services that they receive.

To ensure that high quality practice and services are provided at all times and that all complaints/comments are properly responded to following Departmental policies and procedures.    

To contribute to and promote effective communication using tools and techniques that ensures consistency and continuity between the various shift patterns through the day.

Ensure that corporate, departmental and local policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

Administer prescribed medication where required

To undertake training and acquire appropriate qualifications, as required by relevant registering bodies and the City Council to enhance and improve personal development.

To be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing including undertaking of report writing on individual people who use services. 

Be in attendance and offer assistance to GPs, other professionals and relatives when required

To work on a seven day roling rota to include alternate weekends and bank holidays.

All duties and responsibilities must be carried out with due regard to the City Council's Health and Safety Policy.

Post holders will be accountable for carrying out all duties and responsibilities with due regard to the City Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.

Duties which include processing of any personal data must be undertaken within the corporate data protection guidelines.
