We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Workforce Development Team. Our team is made up of experienced workers with varied skills, knowledge and expertise, all with a passion to help bring social care forward. Our remit is to enable workers and managers to provide the best service to Children, Young People and Adults in the Borough of Solihull.

The Workforce Development Team provide a variety of learning and development opportunities to workers in the Children’s and Adults Directorates and are continuously progressing and improving by responding to National and Regional developments.

The role of this particular Workforce Development Officer is to help progress training and development of the Adults and AMHP service within Solihull and help promote mental health knowledge across the whole service.

You will:

  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to agree training and development needs and priorities.
  • Work closely with our local university on the Approved Mental Health Programme (AMHP), supporting and assessing practitioners to ensure we maintain the required level of expertise.
  • Design and deliver workforce development programmes and activities
  • Be proactive to emerging service demands.

You will:

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Have a Social work qualification with HCPC Registration and/or workforce development award and ideally, an AMHP qualification
  • Have demonstrable experience working within Adults and/or Children's services, ideally within the remit of mental health.

You will need to be passionate and knowledgeable about your area of work in order to develop workers in this complex area, and be willing to share your knowledge with the wider workforce.

In return you will be working as part of a friendly and supportive team and will play a key role in shaping future development programmes in social work/social care.
