As part of our continuous improvement programme we are looking for someone to join us to improve our recruitment and retention activities. Herefordshire Council employs people across a wide range of professions and recruits to an amazing variety of roles every year.

We are looking for someone with the inspiration to develop new approaches to how we attract, recruit, induct and retain people. Working as part of a small team and drawing on resources across the wider organisation and with partners the successful candidate will bring an ability to ensure processes are followed, improved and achieve the best possible outcomes. But this role is not just about processes, at its heart is working make people aware of what we do, the opportunities available and then convert that to applications and appointments.

Variety is a given - one day talking to apprentices about their training, the next, perhaps, designing an assessment process for Heads of Service, then reviewing peoples' first three months working here, getting out and about talking to people and making presentations to potential employees. You will also help to improve how we promote jobs on social media.

OK there's also some work you'll have to do to provide data, develop insights and write reports… You will use these to help improve things further.

We operate a flexible working policy which means you don't need to be at the desk all the time. We are more interested in what you are achieving and the difference it is making than where you are sitting.
