We have a vacancy for a Welfare and Financial Assessment Officer within our Welfare and Financial Assessment Team.

The job role requires you to undertake financial assessments to establish charges for care and support services, and to support individuals with arranging payment options, including re-payment plans for individuals who are in arrears with payments.

Your work will be undertaken by face to face contact, and can involve talking about sensitive matters, as well as communicating complex and sometimes difficult messages to people both in person and in writing.

You will need to have knowledge of the Care Act 2014, statutory guidance on charging and financial assessments, and the council’s care and support charging policy.

You will also have experience of operating in a customer-focused environment, and using computerised systems.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English as relevant to the role is essential for this job.
