Job Details

The Council’s Highways Maintenance and Management PFI is a 25-year project partnership with Amey Birmingham Highways Limited (Service Provider) which commenced in June 2010 and is the largest highway infrastructure management project of its type in Europe with a contract value of £2.7billion. The project maintains and manages 2,500km of roads, 4,200km of footways, 95,000 street lights, 76,000 street trees, around 1,100 traffic light signals and over 1,000 bridges, tunnels and highways structures. Our winter services involve gritting 1,200km of road every night during freezing weather, maintaining 1,265 grit bins and treating priority pavements in icy conditions.

We are looking for two experienced Senior PFI Performance Officers who can be a positive part of monitoring and support management of the performance of the Service Provider. The purpose of these roles will be to ensure contract compliance and to work with the Service Provider to identify and implement remedial action and also ensuring that scrutiny and governance is applied to the services and monthly payment.

You will have experience of monitoring the performance of contracts and services and be able to analyse Service Provider performance providing the basis for recommendation of management action and application of contract mechanisms. Preferably but not essentially within a highways environment. 

You will need extensive experience of systems and processes to support the contract management process, including exceptional IT skills particularly spreadsheet creation, data entry and analysis.

We are seeking candidates who can build effective relationships in a contract environment with strong analytical skills. You will be self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and must demonstrate a positive approach to change
