Senior Family Support Worker – Intensive Prevention Service

Salary:  Grade:  7 + 2 increments

37 hours – Fixed term Position

Department:  PEOPLE - Families First Looked After Services

Location:  Stafford

The Intensive Prevention Service is part of Staffordshire’s Edge of Care Service

The service supports children and young people who are at risk of becoming accommodated by the County Council to remain in their home, or to return home from a period of short term accommodation and ensure that those individuals with greatest need are supported before their needs escalate. The team will work in line with Staffordshire’s Families First early intervention principles and processes and work will be undertaken in partnership with Local Support Teams, Safeguarding Units and other professionals including the 3rd Sector. The team is based in Stafford but work across the county.

The team also provide support to children returning home from long term care.

The role of this post is to support children and their families by both working directly with them and also by coordinating the work of other professionals to offer additional support.

Applicants must have significant experience of working with children / young people and their families.

There is an expectation that this post will include evening and weekend work where two additional increments will be paid.
