Class Teacher - The Primrose Primary Centre
Start date: Monday 29th April 2019 (or sooner if possible).
The Primrose Centre is a 25 place Pupil Referral Unit which supports schools from across the Borough of Sandwell.
Most of our pupils are permanently excluded from mainstream schools, with some of them accessing the Primrose Centre on a respite placement, in order to avoid permanent exclusion. There is a friendly, nurturing atmosphere within the centre, with high expectations of our pupils in terms of academic progress and behaviour. We also aim to return our pupils to mainstream schools, or alternative provisions, within a structured supportive programme.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- is creative, flexible and willing to engage our pupils in re-discovering learning
- has a real interest in teaching children with SEMH needs making a difference to their educational opportunities
- has a good grasp of how to develop basic skills and secure consistently good progress within our primary age-range pupils
- is firm but fair, understands the children's needs and is able to plan to meet those needs in a positive and supportive way
This post is not suitable for newly qualified teachers.
