We are looking for a Team Manager to join our team, helping us to develop and drive forward our services. We are looking for committed, enthusiastic and motivated child focused individuals to help us improve the outcomes for our young people through ensuring good quality supervision and support for the social workers in the team.

The team is responsible for ensuring that children and young people are protected in accordance with legislation and the Council’s own policies and procedures.

The Role

Part-time - 30 Hours per week

Rugby is one of the fastest growing towns in Britain and as a result of this and Warwickshire's investment in front line social work services we have expanded our service to meet the needs to the local community. We currently have four Team Managers who manage a team of 18 social workers as well as other support staff. We are looking to recruit a Team Manager to our Children's Safeguarding and Support Service. Based within walking distance of Rugby town centre the service works with children from 0-18 who are in Need, where there are safeguarding concerns or where they are Looked After by the Local Authority which includes Care Proceedings and Adoption work.

If you would like to join a team which constantly strives to achieve the best outcomes for the children and families we work with, embraces new social work practices and is committed to providing a supportive learning environment for social workers to develop their skills and practice then we want to hear from you.

You will be one of four Team Managers based within the Rugby Children's Safeguarding and Support Service who will manage a Team of Social workers and other support staff ensuring they receive guidance, supervision and support. Work will be undertaken in line with statutory requirements and departmental policy and undertaken in cooperation with our partner agencies with whom we maintain very good relationships. You will be responsible for managing and allocating the workload, ensuring work is quality assured as well as undertake appraisals; set objectives and identify training and development for your staff group.

The role involves working with Social Workers and a number of partner agencies in the delivery of a quality service to children, young people and their families. You will monitor Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans and supervise workers engaged in Court Work and/or the provision of services to ensure that the outcomes of children are met.

This role will include responsibility for practice development within the team. Supporting ASYE’s and more experienced Social Workers across the board to continue to develop and progress their practice.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role you’ll need a professional Social Work qualification and have current Health and Care Professionals Council Registration.

As you’ll be managing a variety of relationships with both staff within the team, partner agencies and our client group, it’s important you have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, communities, colleagues and other agencies. Strong influencing, persuading and analytical skills; ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure, and making difficult decisions are also part of your role.

To ensure that we are able to provide the best quality supervision and support we are seeking candidates who have experience in frontline children's social work services and who have experience in supervising and supporting new and experienced social workers. A good knowledge of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and the

Professional Capabilities Framework is essential in providing social workers with the knowledge, skills and support they require in order to progress through Warwickshire's career pathway.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
