The role

We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic person to join the Environmental Operations service at Worcester City Council, working within the Neighbourhood Team as a General Operative Driver.

This post will involve working as part of a team completing essential cleansing and maintenance tasks based across Worcester City. You will be working as part of an award winning team delivering a first rate service for which you can be proud.

The post may involve tasks such as driving duties with a team of operatives, strimming, grounds maintenance tasks, grass-cutting, litter picking, bin emptying, and general street cleansing tasks.

We are looking for a person who enjoys a challenge, who can fit into a team of people or work alone and who is proud and committed to the service to the people of Worcester that they provide.

Applicants must have a clean full driving licence, have previous similar experience and have the ability to work flexibly covering a variety of tasks with a practical approach.

Applicants must be physically fit to complete all duties, be able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions, have excellent customer care skills and be willing to undertake any necessary training to fully complete the role.

The hours of work are 37 per week to suit the needs of the service. The usual weekly hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 15:30
Friday 07:30 – 15:00
