The Diocese of Coventry is seeking to appoint a part time Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser to support safeguarding provision in the Diocese through expertise, advice, guidance, oversight and training.


Based in Coventry, the Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser will be responsible, as part of the Safeguarding Team for undertaking casework, providing advice and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults to parishes and clergy and delivering safeguarding training.


This is an opportunity for a suitably experienced professional with a social work, probation, police or other relevant background to use their skills to help to develop and sustain a culture which ensures that children and vulnerable people are as safe as they can possibly be in our churches.


The successful applicant will have effective verbal and written communication skills, good record keeping and report writing skills with excellent attention to detail.


You will need to be professional, friendly and approachable (particularly under pressure), self‐motivated, flexible and able to work on your own initiative.
