Teacher of Mathematics

From September 2019, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics who is keen to support and enable students to achieve across the 11-18 range. The successful candidate will join a well-resourced and experienced Mathematics department in a school that is committed to staff induction, support and investment. The Mathematics department at Aylesford is a leading department within the school and we pride ourselves with consistently outstanding results. Students enjoy their Mathematics lessons and are taught by a welcoming, experienced and dedicated team of Mathematicians.

This is a full time, permanent position which will be paid on the TMS/UPS.

We welcome applications from both Newly Qualified and Experienced Teachers.

We welcome candidates to visit the school beforehand to meet the Mathematics department and allow us to answer any questions you may have.

The Mathematics department consists of a pleasant suite of 9 classrooms and a computer room housed together. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, projector and computer giving access to a rich variety of resources from the school network and the internet.

At Key Stage 3, students are set in to 2 parallel bands of 4/5 sets each side, grouped by ability, supported by a variety of resources including textbooks, a large library of specially designed student activities and computer based packages such as Maths Watch.

At Key Stage 4 students are set by ability across the year, allowing easy movement between groups. Students follow the new AQA 9-1 GCSE course from year 9.

At Key Stage 5, A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics are very popular options. All students doing A-level mathematics follow the Edexcel exam board.
