General professional duties and responsibilities
The postholder is required to carry out under the reasonable direction of the Head of School the professional duties of a teacher which are set out in the relevant paragraphs of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and any subsequent amendments.
The postholder must at all times carry out her/his responsibilities with due regard to the Trust’s policies including the Equal Opportunities Policy.

To be agreed in conjunction with the needs of the academy.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Evidence of continuous professional learning and development.
Experience
The Class Teacher should have experience of teaching in the key stage relevant to the post applied.
In addition, the Class Teacher might have experience of:
teaching across the whole Primary age range;
working in partnership with parents, families and the community.
Knowledge and understanding
The Class Teacher should have knowledge and understanding of:
the theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies);
statutory National Curriculum requirements at the appropriate key stage;
the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress;
the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection;
the positive links necessary within school and with all its stakeholders;
effective teaching and learning styles.
In addition, the Class Teacher might also have knowledge and understanding of:
the preparation and administration of statutory National Curriculum tests;
the links between schools, especially in a multi-academy trust;
Skills
The Class Teacher will be able to:
promote the trust’s vision and values positively;
develop good personal relationships within a team;
establish and develop close relationships with parents, governors and the community;
communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences;
create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment.
In addition, the Class Teacher might also be able to:

use digital technology to enrich learning
