THE ROLE

To work with the science team in meeting the schools objectives through the preparation of materials and equipment for science lessons; maintaining science laboratories, preparation rooms and their equipment and services in good order. To ensure Health and Safety procedures are in place for all experiments in the Science Department and that materials are stored safely at all times.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Suitably qualified and experienced person (see job description) with ambition and commitment to make a difference in a vibrant and happy school.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

• 5 GCSEs to include Maths and English or equivalent and Science to Level 3

• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to undertake training to achieve this)

Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience in a similar role at a junior or senior level or experience of lab work in educational, industrial or academic setting.

• Thorough understanding of Health and Safety procedures especially as they relate to work in the specific environment (e.g. Laboratory.)

• Knowledge of appropriate use of specialist equipment (including handling hazardous substances/materials)
