Bredon Hancock’s CE First School is an Outstanding Church of England school.

We are looking for a key member of support staff for our Y1 class. The total number of hours required is 23.75 (Grade 1 and Grade 2 - see below). Prospective candidates must have KS1 experience as a classroom Teaching Assistant as well as running intervention activities (planning, organising and feeding back to the class teacher) and should preferably have a relevant qualification (or currently undertaking relevant training).  Some working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum would be advantageous. They must be very kind and caring and keen to join a loyal and devoted team who work hard and have high expectations of themselves and others. They must also be willing to uphold the Christian Values which underpin all we do in school.

Grade 1 duties will include supporting the teaching and learning in the Y1 classroom, working with individuals and groups of children, as well as some preparation and administrative tasks. This part of the post is for 13.75 hours (five mornings) per week, term time only. Grade 2 duties include working on intervention tasks with individuals and small groups of Y1 children towards clear targets for improvement. It will involve some planning and evaluation work and is required for 10 hours per week (2.5 hours x 4 afternoons per week). It may include some occasional cover supervision of whole class. We are ideally looking for one person to take on both roles but may be open to some flexibility for the right candidate/s.

Visits to the school are very much encouraged. Please phone the school office to make an appointment. Application forms and Job Specifications are available from the school directly, or by email.
