Job Details

Central England Trading Standards Authorities is a partnership of local authority trading standards services working together to tackle cross-border issues/criminality, share best practice and provide resilience across a wide range of specialist areas. The Regional Intelligence Analyst manages the work of the Regional Intelligence Unit and has one direct report, the Regional Intelligence Officer, who is currently undertaking an apprenticeship in Intelligence Operations. The unit is based at Warwickshire Trading Standards on the outskirts of Warwick and is managed by the Warwickshire Head of Trading Standards on behalf of the CEnTSA partnership. There is free parking on site and a Flexitime Scheme is operated within the council.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Analyst who is looking for a varied and challenging role in Trading Standards, working with the 14 local authority trading standards services in the central England area along with colleagues and partners both regionally and nationally.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in intelligence operations and analysis and have a good understanding of the National Intelligence Model or Intelligence Operating Model. He/she will also have the ability to produce a range of intelligence products including an annual regional strategic assessment, bi-monthly regional tactical assessments, regional problem and subject profiles.

Key Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in intelligence analysis in a law enforcement arena. Extensive knowledge and practical experience of IT applications such as I2 analysis notebook, Microsoft excel and of using intelligence databases is essential. Previous experience using PNC/PND is desirable. Applicant will hold or be willing to be vetted to NPPV Level 2.

Allowances 

Warwickshire County Council has a number of pool cars for employee use but those who wish to use their own vehicles receive a casual mileage allowance.
