Senior Accountant (Trainee)

Scale 8 £23,866 per annum with progression to Grade 10 £30,756 per annum

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will initially be responsible for a range of financial duties, including the provision of budgetary control information and with the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets for a range of the Council’s services, coordinating and completing government returns and some supervision of an Accountancy Assistant.
You will be AAT qualified with a wish to continue/commence studying for a professional qualification (CIPFA). Full support will be available to the right candidate to continue/start their professional training. As you complete your professional studies, progress will be made through the salary grades and additional duties will be introduced. For example, you will provide advice and information to Members and Officers with differing levels of financial knowledge. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing will be needed by the successful candidate.
Pay will start on Scale 8 (£23,866per annum) with progression through the scales to Grade 10 (£30,756 per annum) based on the successful completion of your qualification.
