18.5 Hours per week – Permanent

Due to the flexible retirement of the current County Manager for Throughcare, an opportunity has arisen for a part time County Manager Role for the remaining 18.5 hrs (Wednesday - Friday).  The County Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, supervision and performance of a designated range of functions within the Throughcare service which includes 4 Throughcare Teams and a central specialist UASC Team. The primary focus of this service is to ensure that there are good outcomes for young people who are looked after, are unaccompanied asylum seeking children and care leavers, and that young people are properly supported in their transition into adulthood.

The County Manager has a key role in the leadership and development of the county’s Throughcare Service. They perform a lead role in the delivery of Families First performance in relation to inspection and successful delivery against local and national performance indicators including statutory targets. The role further includes the development of effective and collaborative working relationships with partner agencies, particularly in helping achieve good package of support for vulnerable young care leavers.

This part time post will work closely with the current County Manager to ensure consistent and effective management of the service.

A key aspect of the role will involve driving forward our local offer for care leavers with partners.

We are looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker who has worked at Team Manager Level, managed looked after children, safeguarding, court proceedings and has extensive knowledge of statutory services including care leavers and UASC.
