Learning Disability Day Opportunities are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team of support staff working across the city in our day services.

Jenner 8   Centre-less day service for people with a mild learning disability

You will be promoting independence for the service users mild learning disabilities to encourage achievement of  personal outcomes that capture aspirations, dreams and wishes including career goals.

You need to be prepared to work in the community to explore, research and use assistive technology. Effectively communicate information with service user’s carers and other professionals,. You will be involved in supporting a 12 week promoting independence intervention.

1 x 16.5 hour post and 1 x 14 hour post

The Community Zone day service supports people with a moderate to servere Learning disability, where service users attend a centre and access the community for a variety of activities twice a day.

1 x 25.5 hours post.

Working over 5 days

The roles

Providing quality services by promoting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual well being of each service user. To support service users to have a quality and meaningful day accessing a variety of activities within the local community and in a centre.

You'll need

Within the role you must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude to service users' rights, choice and dignity.

You will need to be patient and imaginative in ways to engage with people.

You must be able to communicate effectively with the people you support, parents/carers and with your colleagues.

Enjoy working in the community and be keen to develop strong community connections.  

Working Hours:  25.5 Hours per Week
