Support Assistant

Scale 3 - £17,681 to £18,672 per annum

37 hours per week 

Temporary contract to cover a secondment for up to 12 months

 Reporting to the Governance and Legal Business Support Manager providing administrative and clerical support to all teams within Governance and Legal. The post holder will undertake the following tasks in a prompt and efficient manner under the direction and supervision of the Governance and Legal Business Support Manager;
  • General office administration tasks (i.e. word processing, telephony, diary management, filing (at various Council sites), court bundle preparation) including the collection and processing information for Officers within the service area (this may include tasks off-site where travel is required)
  • Receiving telephone calls from external organisations and members of the public and logging and processing information, ensuring that the calls are dealt with effectively and customer service levels remain high at all times,
  • Tasks to support the Governance and Legal Service DeliveryManager and the team leaders within Governance and Legal Services as and when required,
  • Provide ad hoc and regular support to other teams which may require support team members to be situated with other teams for varying periods of time, for example, to assist the Elections Team with elections and individual electoral registration work,
  • To provide the requisite support to the Land Charges officer when required
