Temporary until 31st July 2019 with a view to extend

30 hours per week

Scale 4: Salary: £13086 - £14244 per annum

To start as soon as possible

We are looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor to be part of a dedicated team who support teaching staff and students by providing classroom cover, implementing set work, monitoring students and providing lesson/student feedback to teaching staff.

You will be responsible for the supervision of classes in the absence of a teacher and are expected to insist upon the highest standards of behaviour maintaining a purposeful and stimulating working environment for our students.

A good standard of education and literacy is essential, along with experience of working with children aged 11 to 18 and supporting learning processes and removing barriers to learning. You will be confident in your ability to maintain the school's behaviour expectations in class and promote positive attitudes to learning through high expectations and rewarding students. You will also be expected to work in line with Teachers' Standards and Ofsted requirements. This post is temporary until July 2019 in the first instance.

We are looking for a person who has:

  • A belief that all students have the ability to achieve and be successful
  • A proven record as an excellent Cover Supervisor or similar role
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • The ability to relate well to young people and adults
  • The ability to manage behaviour effectively
  • The ability to supervise students and establish a constructive, safe and ordered atmosphere in the classroom
