We are now looking to recruit Night Support Workers

Salary: £16,863 - £17,391 pro rata

Worcestershire County Council provides excellent terms and conditions which includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a great pension scheme. Posts also attract an enhancement paid for weekend and night working. Regular supervision and support are provided, as is a structured induction programme and training packages (Including the Care Certificate).

Successful applicants will join a team taking part in a 4 week rolling rota which covers 7 day working and Bank Holiday working (Bank Holidays paid at Double Time) to provide cover 365 days of the year.

Worcestershire County Council is an innovative and forward thinking organisation. Working closely with NHS colleagues in the county, the Council has developed a 30 bed 'Discharge to Assess' Unit where, following a period in an acute hospital, residents aged 65+ can be assessed and their longer term care needs determined. The Unit is based on the London Road in Worcester, and is called the Worcestershire Step Down Unit.

This is a real opportunity to not only provide quality care to help people recover after a period in hospital, but also to support them to achieve their maximum independence and potential with the aim of moving to longer term arrangements as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Working in this dynamic and responsive service will give staff the chance to have a real impact on people's wellbeing. Some people will require long term care in a care home after leaving the unit; others may recover during their stay such they are able to return to their own homes with / without care.  This outcomes based approach will give job satisfaction for everyone involved in the unit.

To be part of this exciting initiative you will have; an understanding of the needs of older people, be motivated, person centred with good communications skills, work well in a team and be able to use your own initiative. Senior Support Workers will also have experience of managing and leading colleagues.

If you would like further information about this post please email Debbie Bell to DBell2@worcestershire.gov.uk.

Applications can be submitted online or by sending a copy of your up to date CV and an expression of interest detailing what makes you a suitable candidate for the post (2 sides A4 max) to:  socialworkopps@worcestershire.gov.uk

Closing date: 30th January 2019
