Job Details

We currently have 3 vacancies within our local centres.

A number of opportunities have arisen to work as a Neighbourhoods Assistants located in one of our Locals within the Neighbourhoods Directorate. The primary focus of the Neighbourhood Assistant is to deliver a front line housing management service ensuring that day to day engagement with our tenants results in sustainable tenancies, thriving estates and safer neighbourhoods.

Working with our key internal and external partners, some of whom are based in the Local offices, it is important to act as a single point of contact and deliver a service that is right first time. As well as delivering housing management functions the Neighbourhood Assistant will support the Neighbourhood Officer in delivering wider services to our communities, sign posting to other council and voluntary services whilst also playing an important role in safeguarding vulnerable residents of Sandwell.

We are looking for employees who can share our council vision for local neighbourhood working and be at the heart of delivering excellent neighbourhood and customer services. You will need to show a passion for high performance and partnership working that enables the delivery of service around individual customer needs and enable a positive customer experience.
 
This post holder will be responsible for providing  a high quality customer focussed service for all service users at first point of contact.

The post holder must possess:

  • Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 as a minimum or equivalent.

The post holder must demonstrate:

  • Experience of dealing with the public face to face.
  • Experience in dealing with complex issues over the telephone.
  • Experience of using modern ICT packages
  • Knowledge of standards and good practice in customer services.
  • Knowledge of IT systems and packages.

Hours

2x 37 hours per week 

1x 18.5 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings)
