A motivated and confident individual with a “can do" attitude is required to work within the Revenues team in the Finance Department. You will be involved in the collection of various income streams which include the collection of overpayments of housing benefits, social care, rents, trade waste - these are just a small selection of the varying areas covered by a Revenues Officer. The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills and be comfortable dealing with individuals and businesses that have overdue balances and need discussions on ways to resolve their debt. The post will work both as a team player and on their own initiative to ensure successful recovery of debt promptly through various channels. For this role you will be required to have an ability to negotiate arrangements or explore alternative recovery avenues whilst maintaining a courteous and professional attitude under some pressured circumstances.
You should have experience of working in a team environment but also using your own initiative which is an essential part of this role. Experience of working in a busy debt recovery environment is preferred but training will be provided, if needed, for the right candidate.
