About the Role:
Here at West Midlands Police we have a wide and varied range of roles and from time to time we need a little extra help when demand is high to make sure that we are supporting our communities and meeting their needs.
Our Specialist Resourcing Bank has been set up to provide a bank of people with specific skills who can work for us on a short term contract basis at fairly short notice as and when their expertise and skills are needed.
The roles can vary, we are currently using associates in training roles and across the investigative portfolio. Examples of some of the skills we are looking for include:
- ABE interviewing
- File / Case Building
- PIP 2
- Scene Management
- ICIDP qualification
To be successful you would have significant experience in investigative fields or other specialist areas.

How does the scheme work?
If you are accepted onto the scheme your details and specific skills will be held centrally within our talent database until we have a vacancy in your area of expertise.
When opportunities arise that require the skills that you have, we will contact you to discuss the role in more detail. Talent bank members will be employed on short or fixed term contracts and will receive a salary/hourly rate based on the equivalent police staff rate for the role. You will need to ensure that your skills are maintained through CPD activity in your own time, when not working directly with us.
