Teacher in charge of ICT - Maternity Cover

The Role

Fixed Term - 12 months from start date (maternity)

From February Half Term 2019, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of ICT who is keen to support and enable students to achieve across the 11-18 range. The successful candidate will be covering the maternity of the current Head of ICT (the main ICT teacher in the school) which is expected to last for 12 months until March 2020.

This is a full time role teaching KS3 to KS5 on a 2 week timetable. The candidate would be responsible for planning and preparation across the three key stages including the running of the BTEC qualifications in Years 10, 11 and Sixth Form.

A TLR will be available for the right candidate.

Key Stage 3 ICT is taught as part of our technology rotation – the successful candidate would teach a small group of students who do an 8 week project and then they rotate to a different Technology subject. This system operates from years 7 through to 9. 

Year 10 are taking the BTEC Digital Information Technology Course (DIT)

Year 11 are taking Computer Science Ebacc (9-1). The Year 11 leave at May half term (go on exam leave) after which there is no computer science on the curriculum.

Year 12 are taking the BTEC extended certificate level 3 in IT
