Smestow School is a vibrant, successful and happy school in Castlecroft, Wolverhampton. We have high expectations and are very ambitious for our staff and students and we are currently seeking to appoint a like-minded person to the advertised post. We are in the prestigious position of belonging to the University of Wolverhampton Multi Academy Trust and therefore have strong links with the University which brings fantastic opportunities for staff and students.

Our school has recently appointed new leadership and has begun its journey to become outstanding. Summary of Role:

• Work as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to provide excellent leadership for Smestow School, driving high quality provision for all students which enables every individual to achieve their potential thorough excellent Business Management.

This is a vitally important role in the leadership and development of our school as this is currently a long-term vacant post. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to completely review and redevelop this area, bringing a highly ambitious approach.

• To strategically lead and manage the business and operations areas of the school, including finance, HR, administration and work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure effective provision and links between areas.

• To be responsible for providing professional leadership and management of school support staff in partnership with teaching staff, to enhance their effectiveness in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement in the school.

Greenheart Learning Partnership (GLP) is proud to be an academies sponsor.

We are accredited as a sponsor by the DfE in recognition of our drive, expertise and capacity, as well as the experience we bring from a wide variety of backgrounds and sectors.

We operate as a Partnership. We have twelve schools within the Partnership already converted to academies, ten primary and two secondary.

We have many more schools interested in working with us and our aim is to create a Partnership Family of around 20-25 schools. This will establish a network of schools working collaboratively on supportive, rigorous and sustainable approaches to school improvement.

Greenheart is drawing upon our experience and track record of school improvement developed over the last 16 years since the formation of BCCSIP (Black Country Children’s Services Improvement Partnership).  The expertise we developed through running the recent highly successful Black Country Challenge programme also underpins our activity.  We have an excellent knowledge of our locality and a proven track record of making a difference for schools.

Our structured development and improvement process is built on the results we have achieved in education over the last 15 years. Each academy within the Partnership commits to a core programme, including an initial audit process which helps to build a bespoke action plan to address school performance and improve the life chances of pupils.
