Job Details
You will monitor direct payment bank accounts to identify whether direct payments are being used to meet eligible needs and whether they are meeting legal and audit requirements.
Part of the role will involve raising invoices to recover funding from direct payment accounts and escalate concerns about mismanagement, safeguarding or fraud to operational teams and internal audit.
You will need to provide advice, guidance and financial support to direct payment recipients, adults and children's social care teams, care providers, third sector organisations and Coventry & Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group (CR CCG) about payment delays, funding issues and general enquiries about direct payments policies and procedures.
You’ll need:
Excellent communication and I.T skills are required for this post. You will also have data analytical and problem solving skills and have experience of using finance and payment systems. You will be able to develop and maintain spreadsheets including experience of writing and using formulas along with experience of liaising with members of the public and/or other external agencies by email, letter and telephone. You will have an understanding of the way care and support needs are assessed, planned and structured. It would be an advantage for you to have worked in an finance or administrative role within the social care environment.

You will be based in the Independent Living Team who support both adult and children's social care across Coventry City Council. Adults and Children's Social Care in Coventry are committed to delivering high quality innovative, person centred support around children, people and their families enabling them to live fulfilling and positive lives within the community. Direct Payments are a key way to enable children, young people, people and families to arrange their own care and support in a personalised way to meet their eligible social care needs and achieve their outcomes.
