NJC Scale 1 £16,394 - £16,863

Full Time 37 hours per week

 

Telford and Wrekin have been awarded a contract through European Funding to deliver a project engaging businesses across Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire to help support young people in schools be ready for world of work. The Project is called Life Ready Work Ready

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic apprentice to work with the Life Ready Work Ready Coordinator  to deliver the project plan for this contract and meet all contractual and financial evidence requirements

The role will require good attention to detail, good planning and organising strong administrative skills.

 The post will be fixed term until October 2019 in line with the project funding

You're aged 16 plus and interested in starting a career with the Council, perhaps looking for your first job after leaving school or college or looking to further enhance your skills in business administration

You will combine work with training, working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable skills and practical experience.

Fixed term until 30th October 2020 
37 hour week


You must not be taking part in full time education, not possess a degree, as we are not eligible to receive funding for those that have a degree and not already have obtained NVQ  3 in Business Administration

As a team member, you will work under the instruction / guidance of the team leader to undertake work.

You will study for a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 as part of an Apprenticeship framework


The NVQ content will be tailored to suit the tasks you will be doing in your day to day work and you will receive support and guidance in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in the workplace. 

You will be required to complete a range of administrative tasks including diary management, arranging events, liaising with internal and external customers

You will need good IT skills as the role will require data input and collating information for claims and payments

You will be required to have an eye for detail checking evidence requirements and filing key information for evidence both paper based and electronically

You may be required to visit schools or businesses to support delivery of activities with the Life Ready Work Ready Coordinator

You will be required to demonstrate the ability to show the following skills

  • Confident in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Publisher and Access
  • Able to work flexibly and respond to changing demand and workloads
  • Able to use the internet to access information and place order for a variety of good and services.
  • Organised with attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed successfully with the minimum of errors.

 

You will be required demonstrate some experience in

  • Experience of data entry using a range of computer systems and software
  • Experience of dealing with customer enquiries, and providing good customer service
  • Experience of taking minutes during meetings and producing typed notes for circulation
  • Experience of working as part of a team, and supporting the team’s objectives to achieve agreed targets.

If you are successful you will be required to undertake a Standard/Enhanced DBS check.
