This is a 2 years fixed term position.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Occupational Therapist (Level 1) to join our strong team of OTs, OTAs and Support Staff for a fixed term 'single handed care' project.

The project entails assessing people receiving home care with the aim of increasing people's independence through provision of aids and adaptations that reduce the need for home care and support people to carry out their activities of daily living. The main targeted groups are:
* People with large existing packages of home care
* People being discharged from hospital with packages of home care
* People going from home to extra-care facilities

To carry out the role you will require a wide range of experience of using equipment and adaptations to reduce the need for home care. You will also need to demonstrate a high level of communication and persuasive skill when working with people who may have been having carers for some time, and with care agencies and other professionals. You will also need good IT skills and have a commitment to Continued Professional Development.

With a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy, state registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), post-qualification experience in a clinical setting and preferably some experience in Social or Community Care, you will carry an active caseload of service users with eligible needs. Professional support, advice and supervision will be readily available and you will contribute to promoting the Occupational Therapy Service. A casual car user allowance is allocated to this post.

For more information or to discuss the post, please contact Sue Griffin (Professional Lead) on 01782 234125.
