Job Details

Are you a good communicator, with experience of dealing directly with a wide range of people? Are you looking for a job where your admin, organisational skills and interpersonal qualities will be used to the full?

Are you able to learn quickly and work within tight timescales, with an ability to recognise and maintain strict confidentiality?

If the answer is yes to each of the above, then we have the ideal role for you.

Public Health and Strategic Commissioning are responsible for addressing the overall health needs of the population of Warwickshire.  We design and deliver services to prevent illness, promote health and enable individuals to live independently and maintain their wellbeing.

We’re looking for an experienced Business Support Officer to join us working on a full time or part time basis.  Full time will be 37 hours per week or a part time will be 30+ hours per week.

The Role

Joining our team, you’ll be responsible for providing a first class administrative support to the Office Manager / PA function of Public Health and Strategic Commissioning.  This is a key role and you’ll be managing diaries; organising meetings; booking venues; preparing agendas as well as managing the email inboxes; responding to queries in person and on the phone and typing correspondence.  In addition you’ll also undertake some financial work including creating purchase orders and paying invoices and support the wider team as necessary.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role you’ll need previous administrative experience with good literacy and numeracy.  This is a busy role so it’s important you have well developed organisational skills, are used to working under pressure to meet deadlines and are resilient.  As one of the first points of contact for callers to the office, in person or on the phone, you’ll have good communication skills and be used to working with confidential information with tact and discretion.  You will be able to analyse information to solve general queries; have good IT skills, MS office preferred, and database experience as well as the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative are also required.
