Sense have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our fantastic ‘Get Out There’ team to manage our Social Group based in Warwickshire.

About the role

As a Social Group Co-ordinator you will recruit and lead a team of support workers and volunteers to offer support to children and young people with complex needs, which may include sensory impairments, additional learning or physical disabilities, or autism. You will enable them to enjoy more independent lives through social opportunities at weekends, after school and during school holidays, in community settings such as youth clubs or activity venues.

About you

You will have experience working in a care setting and be keen to take on a team management role. You will be able to coordinate and plan a range of activities. Experience working with young people with complex communication and learning needs is desirable.

You will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to liaise with the families, friends and schools of our service users. Good computer skills are necessary for the administrative aspects of this role, including use of the full Microsoft Office Suite.

Travel throughout Warwickshire is essential for this role.  This is a rural area with a geographically dispersed population, in which public transport is very limited.  Therefore, it would be beneficial for the successful candidate to hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.  You may also be required to support with the transportation of individuals to and from activities.

About us

For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.

We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Sense has a proven record of offering high quality, pioneering services.

Working at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.
