The governing body wishes to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and visionary headteacher to lead our popular, well-established and successful primary school. We believe this post is an exciting opportunity for you, offering both challenge and reward, as you work in partnership with staff, parents, governors and the wider education network to ensure outstanding and aspirational outcomes for all our children, all within the happy, safe, caring environment the school prides itself in providing. This collaboration demonstrates our one school rule – “consideration”.

Our new Headteacher should be a strong, approachable, compassionate and supportive leader who is passionate and knowledgeable about the pursuit of teaching and learning within the context of a broad and balanced curriculum and has a love of working with children. The person specification provides a more comprehensive list of the qualities we are looking for, but in essence we wish to appoint somebody with the wisdom, experience and confidence to take the school forward; someone who builds on our current strengths and successes, and ensures we continually improve by embracing the opportunities and challenges which becoming a first-rate primary school offers.

The Governors would like....

A leader who, working alongside them, has the drive, passion and energy to build on the current good practice, high standards and traditions, yet bring a fresh perspective. A leader who will inspire high quality teaching and learning. Someone who has proven leadership skills, a depth and breadth of experience, excellent interpersonal skills and is a strategic thinker.

In return at Newburgh Primary School you will find:

  • A school with an excellent reputation
  • Happy, hardworking children
  • Committed and enthusiastic staff
  • A warm, welcoming caring learning environment where everyone is valued
  • Committed, supportive governing body and PTA
  • Opportunities for you to develop both professionally and personally

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this requirement. This post has to have an enhanced DBS disclosure and the supply of two suitable references.

Further information about the school is available on its website www.newburghprimaryschool.co.uk
