Are you seeking a service in which you can develop your skills, work closely with colleagues, seek out new opportunities and progress your career?

Telford and Wrekin’s Educational Psychology Service is recruiting for an Educational Psychologist to join the team.

We are a forward thinking, dynamic service that works in partnership with other Local Authority inclusion teams, schools, early years providers, health and care professionals. The Principal Educational Psychologist has responsibility for the Learning Support Advisory Team which has supported joint working with schools and a focus on positive outcomes for the children and young people with whom we work.

We are committed to early intervention, to promoting inclusion and we work on council-led initiatives to support vulnerable groups. We offer a systemic, consultative approach that is traded to schools and is well regarded, alongside commissioned activity by the LA to undertake statutory work as part of the Education, Health and Care Plan processes. Telford & Wrekin EPS has introduced the Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training programme which has been well received by schools; this is part of our drive to champion the emotional health and wellbeing of children in Telford and Wrekin.

The Local Authority values the distinct contribution of Educational Psychology and the team retains a psychological service ethos. As a Telford and Wrekin EP you will receive regular supervision (using peer, group and individual reflective management models) and have the opportunity to take part in extensive CPD activities. You will have access to excellent administration support, SMART laptops and phones. The council offers desirable, flexible working arrangements and the majority of schools are just a short drive from the office base. Telford and Wrekin is a cosmopolitan authority that has benefitted from significant recent investment; is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and has the historic Ironbridge on its door step. Many schools have benefitted from previous funding schemes and their buildings and facilities are outstanding.

We welcome applications from qualified, HCPC registered Educational Psychologists and trainee Educational Psychologists who due to complete professional training in 2019 and who will be eligible for HCPC registration on completion.
