Headquartered at Council House, in Birmingham city centre, Birmingham City Council is the one of the largest local authorities in Europe, with responsibility for running and delivering nearly all local services to its citizens.

Apprenticeship for 18 months

Hours of work 8.45 am - 5.15 pm Monday - Friday

We are looking for hard-working, dynamic team players with a positive attitude to join our busy business support teams.

You will provide efficient, consistent and responsive administrative services to a wide range of internal and external customers, providing meeting support, handling telephone calls and visitors, and creating and amending documents, among others. You will receive all training and development support necessary to enable you to excel in your role.

As well as an attractive salary of £13,605 per annum – which exceeds the National Apprenticeship Wage – you will get 29 days holiday allowance per year, the opportunity to join the pension scheme, and enjoy an impressive package of health and wellbeing benefits, as well as discounts with some of the UK’s top retailers, fashion and tech brands.

Apprentices will receive full training on all aspects of their work, including administrative systems, data protection, and health and safety.

Maths and English GCSE A-C grade or equivalent qualifications.

 

 

Our ideal candidate will be a good communicator, enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable, able to respond to situations creatively and to solve problems effectively. You will need to have an improvement-focused attitude and be prepared to take responsibility and get things done, as well as demonstrate effective listening skills and a desire to keep learning.
