G6 Salary £22,180 to £26,208 per annum
Full time or job share 

An opportunity has arisen for two Children and Families posts in our Looked After Children Teams. 

You will need to be passionate about our children in care.  You will work alongside social workers to support children and their families/carers to help children to achieve the best outcomes; complete direct and life story work with children and young people; supporting children in times of crisis. 

You will need experience of working with young children, ability to work closely and cooperatively with colleagues, have good communication skills, a professional approach to working with children, young people and carers as well as a willingness to extending your knowledge and skills. 

Walsall Council takes seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all the children, young people and entrusted to our care and it is our expectation that all staff will share this commitment. We will ensure continuous development and improvement of robust recruitment processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce. Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for working with children and young people. 

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English
