About Us

Transport for West Midlands is the transport face of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration.  We work with individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships who deliver many vital services, but on the big decisions we ensure we have the resources to work together and tackle specialist challenges and opportunities.

This is an exciting time for the West Midlands - with Coventry’s City of Culture in 2020, the Commonwealth Games here in 2022, the arrival of HS2 which will help make us a world class business location and a new £350m housing deal aims to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.  All supported by a massive local programme of bus rapid transit, highway improvements, bike hire, new metro lines and new local rail stations.

Against a backdrop of a uniquely challenging and evolving environment, we are looking for the right people to ensure we can meet the demands of delivering an ambitious agenda that aims to build a healthier, happier, better connected and more prosperous West Midlands.

About the Role

As a GIS Analyst you will work within TfWM’s extremely strong Data Insight team. A dynamic, solution focused person, you will work closely with multiple stakeholders and colleagues to support and maintain GIS systems, collate information and prepare and present performance monitoring reports ensuring system functionality is fit for purpose to support the delivery of a better, more efficient service to our customers. You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to a significant increase use of GIS technology.  You will be fully conversant with system functionality and able to provide support, guidance and training when required.

In return for your hard work and commitment, we will reward you with a range of competitive and attractive benefits.  You will have an unparalleled opportunity to work with some of UK’s largest and most innovative companies and will be helping shape one of the strongest transport innovation programmes in the UK to act as a global showcase.

Closing Date: 3rd March 2019

Interview date: 13th March 2019
