A major change in Housing legislation sees the Homelessness Reduction Act come into force from 1st April 2018. This has created the need to introduce a brand new team focused on preventing homelessness. You will need the ability to be creative and solution focused to ensure we are offering practical relevant advice and guidance to everyone with a housing need.

The new Homelessness Prevention Team are recruiting for a number of roles. this one being:

Senior Housing Officer

To provide leadership, guidance and motivation to the Housing Options team members, undertaking regular one to ones, absence management and managing the operation.

To work closely with the Customer Service Manager and other team managers to develop the service, including responding to new legislation, new initiative and technology.

To evaluate and monitor workloads, reviewing processes and procedures to ensure we meet legislation timescales

To provide guidance in complex cases

Knowledge of housing legislation is essential given the supervisory responsibility and need to give technical advice.
