You will play a vital role in implementing and improving the robust adult Safeguarding procedures that already exist within Shropshire.

You will be expected respond to concerns and enquiries regarding the alleged abuse of adults at risk that are brought to the attention of the Local Authority. You will chair adult safeguarding meetings as required and will advise and give direction in accordance with the Pan West Midlands Safeguarding Adult Policy, and associated local procedures.

You will also be nominated as a link person for an area of Shropshire across the wider Adult Social Care System to help improve everyone’s knowledge and responsibility for the Safeguarding agenda.

You must be able to work in an outcome focussed manner which places the person at risk of abuse at the centre of the process will use your professional experience and judgement in recommending actions to reduce risk and minimise the re-occurrence of any abuse.

You will work to enable the adult at risk to maintain or develop all aspects of daily living and to be as fully independent as possible in a safe and low risk environment.

The post holder is directly accountable to the Adult Safeguarding Team Manager and will be responsible to provide support and supervision to the Safeguarding Practitioners.

Applications are invited from anyone with a professional social work qualification (e.g. Dip SW, BA in Social Work) or other related professional qualification (e.g. Nursing/O.T.)

The successful candidate will have experience of adult safeguarding work and will be registered with appropriate professional body.
