Job Details

The Children with Disabilities Team (CwDT) is seeking 2 Team Managers to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis.

CwDT is a frontline children’s team with a specialism in complex disability/additional needs. The team offers a social work service for children with complex disability/learning need and their siblings. Warwickshire is committed to the principle of one family one Social Worker. We aim to provide a responsive service which is able to recognise and meet the needs of children and all of their family members.

The Role

You will be required to manage Social Workers and Family Support Workers working with children and young people with complex disabilities and/or learning needs, their siblings, and their parents/carers. Warwickshire CwDT undertake Single Assessments, Section 47 investigations, and work with children on Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, and Child Looked After Plans. Confidence in statutory social work and practices is essential.

The team is based across two sites – one in the north of the county and one in the south – and there is flexibility with regards to where you would be based. We support our staff to deliver services which are able to enhance the life experiences and chances of all Warwickshire children and maximise outcomes for those who are more vulnerable and need additional support due to disability/learning need.

We also support our staff to deliver services in partnership with health and education professionals which are able to enhance the life experiences and chances of children and young people with a disability and their families, keeping them safe and healthy.

Key Requirements

We welcome applications from experienced Team Managers and qualified Social Workers who have significant frontline children’s social work experience looking to take their first step into management. Whilst experience of working with children and young people who have a disability and their families would be an advantage, it is not essential. Confidence in assessment processes and statutory Child Protection, Child Look After, and Child in Need social work is recognised as essential for this role.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Therefore, these posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
