Who we are looking for

We are a forward thinking Autism Specific Specialist Free School seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work with our Transdisciplinary Team to support our students within the school.

Supported by the National Autistic Society Academies Trust, we cater for up to 60 young people aged 4-19 with Autism and Asperger Syndrome. As a part of the NAS Academies Trust, we are developing significant professional and working partnerships with the already established Independent NAS schools drawing on knowledge and expertise through professional working relationships to ensure best practise is shared.

You would become part of an existing dedicated team of therapists who strive to deliver best practice at all times. You will be responsible for evaluating children’s abilities, presenting findings in reports and setting collaborative goals with those that support the student. You role would also include opportunities to deliver training, support environmental modifications as well as direct group and individual therapy sessions. You will be expected to work autonomously and be confident in representing Speech & Language Therapy within annual reviews, team meetings etc. along with ensuring effective service delivery and facilitating positive outcomes for our students

You must hold a recognised Speech & Language Therapy qualification and be registered with the HCPC. 

 Desirable

  • You will have at least five years experience of working with autistic children and young people.
  • You will ideally have relevant post graduate training along with experience of working within a school environment and working with individuals with autism.
  • You will be a member of RCSLT.
