Teacher of Design and Art

The WMG Academy Trust Board seek to appoint a motivated, dedicated and inspirational teacher of design art and engineering to inspire our learners for September 2019.

Art & Design is at the core of our academy curriculum. The need has never been greater to ensure that our school leavers have creative ability and link to successful engineering careers is clear. As an art teacher you will have the skills to inspire students to draw, paint, make and develop concepts from initial thoughts to finished products. As a design teacher you will have a passion for explaining the design process and allowing students the freedom to develop independent ideas in an engineering context (without the necessity of an engineering background). You will have the opportunity to set your choices for examination board, assessment strategy and classroom layout - significant independence whilst receiving full support from the leadership of the school.

As a small school, the concept of a 'family' environment is very important to us. Our staff are well looked after and genuinely work as a team in an open-office environment. Student-staff relationships are excellent and there are multiple opportunities to work with both an array of business partners (including Jaguar Land Rover, Bosch, Balfour Beatty and National Grid) as well as the University of Warwick. All members of staff are affiliate members of the university and enjoy associated benefits.
