We are looking for an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to join us at an exciting time for the City and Council. Not only is there a large, proactive resilience programme with lots of opportunities, as Birmingham prepares to host one of the largest sporting events, the Commonwealth Games, now is a perfect time to join us and help support the council in achieving excellence in our resilience arrangements.

You will be educated to degree level with experience in Emergency Planning and Business Continuity, you will be used to partnership working, incident response and how local government works and ready to drive improvement across our emergency arrangements.

The Council operates a 24/7 duty system, which you will be a part of. Our response role is vital for the city, supporting communities, partners and ensuring the Council can respond.

A strong grasp of Business Continuity and practical understanding of how to support and implement a business continuity programme across a large organisation would be advantageous.
