Do you have time to do some paid work on an ad hoc basis? Are you an experienced CCTV operator? If so, then we may have the ideal opportunity for you.

Stratford upon Avon District Council is seeking to recruit a CCTV Operator(s) ‘bank staff’ on a casual hours contract to cover leave, sickness and peak periods.  You will be joining our busy CCTV team operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a shift system.

Your duties will include monitoring over 100 CCTV cameras located in eight towns throughout the District. You will be work alongside other agencies and will deal with CCTV evidence production and legal documentation. Excellent observation and communication skills, both verbal and written, IT skills and the ability to recall information accurately are essential. Full training will be given on the Council CCTV system.

A current Security Industry Authority (SIA) Front Line Licence for a CCTV Operator is required, along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Public Space Surveillance (PSS) environment.

The Council’s CCTV service is regulated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and holds the British Standard quality award BS7958.

Successful applicants will be subject to criminal record, employment and credit checks. 

We may consider applications from applicants with experience of CCTV monitoring, who have not yet achieved their SIA Front Line Licence, but are willing to undertake training to achieve it. If you wish to be considered on this basis, then please state ‘Trainee CCTV Operator’ on your application.
