Recruit-Ability:  A positive action training initiative for disabled people

The Recruit-Ability programme provides 12 months paid work experience and training for people who have a disability.  Additionally, participants can expect to receive full support and advice and access to training courses.

Please note:  The following placement is available to disabled people only who are new to Walsall Council and new to this type of positive action programme. Equality Act (Section 158) applies.

Recruitment Assistant – Ref: RT43718

  • Based at the Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall WS1 1DQ.
  • 18.5 hours per week – working Monday to Thursday afternoons.
  • Training allowance of £8,122. This post qualifies for the Living Wage. The Council is committed to paying the Living Wage which is currently £8.75 per hour. This arrangement will be reviewed annually.

We are looking for a person with excellent communication skills and administrative experience to join our friendly, enthusiastic Recruitment Team.  We are a busy team, dealing with recruitment for the whole of Walsall Council, as well as Walsall Schools and other organisations.

Your duties will include data input, dealing with enquiries, helping to organise and assisting at recruitment events, and updating the teams’ popular social media sites.

Our ideal applicant will have good organisational skills in terms of dealing with online and paper documents, experience of using computers and excellent customer service skills.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. 

Closing Date: Monday 4th March 2019
Interviews and tests will be held during the week commencing 18th March 2019.
