Casual Caretaker- Ref RT44018
Salary: G5 £10.17 per hour

Casual Caretaking work is available in Schools, Libraries and Council Offices across the Walsall Borough.  We are looking for an enthusiastic Caretaker who is motivated to join our hard working team who will take pride in how our schools and buildings look and function. 

Training and Uniform will be provided, however, it is essential that you have previous Caretaking or Premise management experience, alongside locking and unlocking of premises and Health and Safety awareness. You may be required to undertake cleaning duties including mopping, polishing and vacuuming and some experience in this type of work is advantageous.

You must be willing and able to travel in order to cover premises across the borough when required.

Please note: The casual caretaker position is of a non-contractual basis and work will be allocated on an as and when needed basis to cover annual leave, sick leave and holiday deep cleaning, additional opening /closing of premises. Therefore, hours are not guaranteed.

Walsall council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Completion of a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) Check may be a requirement of this post.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The postholder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English
