Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Building Consultancy team, working to enhance our local environment through the application of the building regulations.

East Staffordshire Borough Council is a forward thinking employer, providing opportunities to meet professional challenges, continuous development and training. We offer a family friendly working environment including a generous flexible working hours scheme and some home working.

Working in a small but friendly team of professional experts, our Building Consultancy service prides itself on delivering a first rate service to our customers.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the technical requirements of Building Control and the ability to work individually. The role will expose you to a varied and demanding workload, including both residential and commercial developments in rural and urban locations.

The successful applicant will either be a fully qualified Chartered (RICS or CABE) Surveyor or someone working towards this qualification. If part qualified, we will provide the necessary support and training to enable you to obtain a professional qualification and further your career with the Council.

We are seeking a hard working and ambitious surveyor who possesses excellent communication skills and is a committed team player.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer flexible working hours, reimbursement of car insurance and payment of professional fees. The successful candidate will also be required to support the Council’s emergency call-out service, for which you will receive an additional allowance. Full training will be provided to support you in this role. We will consider applications from those interested in both full time and part time working hours.
