An exciting opportunity has arisen at Horton Lodge Community Special School for an enthusiastic, hardworking Residential Support Worker to join our successful team. This is an exciting role which assists the development of Conductive Education within the school's residential provision.

Horton Lodge School is a Local Authority Special School for children aged 2-11years with physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties. Our students have a range of complex learning needs including cognitive, physical, sensory, emotional and health related disabilities.

The successful candidate will truly hold the pupils well-being and learning at the centre of all they do, have good interpersonal skills, high standards and expectations and an understanding of the difficulties faced by young people with disabilities. A commitment to undertake training and implement new initiatives is required.

The successful candidate will undertake duties detailed in Residential Support Worker Job Profile C1172 at Grade 6 term time only (SCP 20 – 24, £19,819 - £22,401 FTE).

The post is for 24 hours per week, 21 hours child contact and 3 hours residential preparation time, care plan recording and a weekly staff meeting. The working pattern will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 3pm – 8pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, 7am – 9.30 am, Thursday 7am – 10am and  1 weekly sleep in 8pm – 7 am with a separate additional payment. Times may very slightly to accommodate the needs of the children.
