Assistant Civil Contingencies Officer
Grade 6 (fixed term for 12 months).
The position is also available as a secondment opportunity

Would you like to work as a member of an innovative civil contingencies organisation delivering excellent service to a wide and varied range of public sector partners?
The Staffordshire Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU), based at Stafford Fire Station supports organisations across Staffordshire in preparing for, and responding to Emergencies as defined under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. In addition, we deliver a range of planning, training and advisory functions, all of which are aimed at helping to build the overall resilience of Staffordshire.
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and organised person to work with and support CCU team members with multi-agency Civil Contingencies planning in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The position is available on a fixed term basis for a period of twelve months or as secondment opportunity from a partner organisation (in which case the CCU can back fund the salary to a maximum of £23,866 for the year).
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, to be flexible in approach and be able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative. He or she should also have a good understanding of how civil contingencies/ emergency planning arrangements and the implications of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
