Planning Enforcement Officer

Grade G £24,657 - £28,221 per annum

Post No: DP404 - 37 Hours per week

Situated on the northern edge of the West Midlands Conurbation with excellent transport links, Cannock Chase District has a unique blend of urban and rural landscapes.

We are looking for an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join the Development Control Team to take responsibility for the investigation of potential breaches of planning regulations/conditions and the actions required thereafter.

You will need to display initiative, sound judgement and excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with a variety of people and situations. You will also need to have a good working knowledge of appropriate planning regulations and legal processes along with the general principles of Town Planning in the UK.

Good negotiation skills and a tactful, but firm approach would also be a key requirement for this post. You should also be competent in the use of a variety of ICT software packages and applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook and GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including English & Maths or equivalent.

In addition you must possess a full driving licence and have the use of a car for work purposes.

In return we can offer a supportive and stretching working environment, a flexible approach to how you tackle your workload, and an opportunity to develop new skills and abilities.

For an informal chat about this role, please speak to either Glenn Watson (Planning Services Manager) on 01543 464529, or Richard Sunter (Development Control Manager) on 01543 464481.
